Our premium program combines intensive jungle and Pampas tours in the Bolivian Amazon and in Madidi National Park. The journey begins in Rurrenabaque with a boat trip on the Río Beni, including a visit to a historic sugarcane mill with demonstration. Afterwards, you hike to a viewpoint overlooking parrot nesting sites. The first night is spent in a remote jungle camp with panoramic views over Madidi. Night walks in the light of fireflies and the calls of howler monkeys at dawn make this nature experience unforgettable. You then visit the Cañón del Bala with its steep rock walls and caves at the transition from the Andean foothills into the Amazon, home to numerous bat species. The journey continues to the indigenous protected area of San José de Uchupiamonas to the Madidi Kullpana Ecolodge. There, guided day and night walks on seven rainforest trails, river bathing breaks, traditional fishing, and optional workshops on natural crafts and regional cuisine await you. Sunrises and sunsets at the viewpoint, along with the remoteness, increase the chances of spotting wildlife such as jaguar or ocelot. Optionally, you can take part in a two-day jungle trek with an overnight stay in the forest. Together with experienced guides, you will learn survival strategies of indigenous communities, from building a shelter to using natural resources. Alternatively or in combination, a multi-day jungle trek with a boat tour on the Río Tuichi and an overnight stay in the rainforest is possible, including a visit to the indigenous village of San José de Uchupiamonas. To conclude, you will spend at least two days in the Pampas del Yacuma. Boat tours offer encounters with capybaras, caimans, anacondas, and pink river dolphins. Depending on the weather, we also visit Laguna Bravo for dolphin watching at sunrise or sunset. Your personal guide adapts the program flexibly to your wishes.
